In the Kitchen
SEE IT LIVE.
I can design a series of cookbooks and the website to showcase them, but can barely cook a lick myself. Isn't that ironic?
The page for In the Kitchen was created to accompany a cooking segment on channel 4WWL New Orleans morning news program. Data revealed that the majority of their audience was approaching the station’s website on their phones and tablets. This isn’t surprising at all—that’s just the world we live in today!
Metrics must be considered in UI/UX. Since so many of 4WWL’s audience were accessing the page on their phones and tablets, I incorporated large squares that are easily clickable and more resembling of an app.
What good is a page designated for the housing of a series of cookbooks without the cookbooks themselves? Each edition evolving and growing with every new entry, assembled facing the duel threat of firmly set deadlines and sponsors loathe to deliver their central and essential contextual contributions until the 11th hour. But if you’ve been in the design game long enough, you know such trials are just par for the course.
